🎧 Who Is Loco Dice?

Born and raised in Düsseldorf, Germany, Loco Dice—real name Yassine Ben Achour—grew up in a multicultural household with Tunisian roots that shaped his diverse musical tastes. His journey started in the early 1990s, not in clubs but on the hip-hop stage, where he established himself as a respected rapper and DJ, touring alongside legends like Snoop DoggIce Cube, and the Death Row Crew.

By the early 2000s, Dice made a bold pivot to electronic music, crafting his breakout hit “Phat Dope Shit” in 2002. From there, he founded Desolat, his iconic label, and released critically acclaimed albums such as “7 Dunham Place”(2008) and “Love Letters” (2018). His major-label effort “Underground Sound Suicide” dropped via Ultra Musicand featured collaborations with GiggsJust Blaze, and Neneh Cherry.

As a DJ and producer, Dice has released on essential imprints like CocoonMinus, and Ovum, while remixing the likes of MobyKevin SaundersonDisclosureBlack CoffeeBasement Jaxx, and Warren G. He’s played everything from gritty underground basements to main stages at EDCTomorrowlandUltra, and beyond. In Ibiza, he’s become a legend with residencies at Circoloco (DC-10) and Amnesia Terrace, as well as Space Miami.

Dice is also a visual and fashion trailblazer. His collaborations include work with Marcelo Burlon during Milan Fashion Week, projects with New EraDaily Paper, and his own brand Serán Bendecidos. During lockdown, he launched En Couleur, a solo label for his personal productions, and more recently SB Recordings, a genre-open platform for global dance music.

Put simply, Loco Dice is a creative powerhouse who lives between cultures, genres, and global dance floors.

🔊 Inside Purple Jam: A Journey Through Sound and Soul

Purple Jam is more than just a record—it’s a movement. The album kicks off with a moody cinematic intro that flows directly into “Heavy Heart,” an emotional, genre-crossing masterpiece featuring Skrillex and Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Fireboy DML. It’s a melancholic anthem built for those late-night club moments when vulnerability meets rhythm.

Then comes “Purple Kawasaki”—techy, playful, and relentless—followed by “G Class,” where Guè, Italy’s rap kingpin, adds a slick vocal strut over Dice’s chunky low-end.

Fans of deep minimalism will love “High Roller,” a hypnotic collaboration with Marco Carola, while “Just Do It” featuring Moxie Knox delivers a soulful vocal crescendo paired with crisp percussive heat.

Side B of the album comes in swinging. “Blowin’ Up” and “Juice” ooze charisma, with the latter featuring a stacked lineup: The Martinez Brothers bring house precision, while Trinidad James injects hip-hop swagger for a club track that’s equal parts bounce and brilliance.

The heat continues with “Ice Cold Dealer,” where German rap heavyweight Haftbefehl joins Dice for a cold-blooded anthem. Then, with “Megalodon,” we dive into deeper sonic waters, guided by powerful sub-bass and aquatic rhythms.

The legendary Carl Cox features on the hard-driving “Road Runner,” a full-circle moment for Dice—who was first spotlighted by Cox during his debut Circoloco set in 2002. Their collaboration is nothing short of iconic, fusing restraint with pure DJ weaponry energy.

The album closes on a high with “Designer Kidz,” a futuristic and playful track created with 1 Up Crew, rounding out an epic journey with one last burst of creative fire.
