About GORDO:

A global musical trend has already been defined in part by Diamanté Anthony Blackmon. But now he’s back at it: the artist formerly known as Carnage has a new house music moniker called GORDO. Diamanté has been teaching himself and others around him ever since he first entered the dance music scene, creating both a new sound and a new movement. His search for this new sound has resulted in releases like “KTM,” which shot to the top of the Beatport Main Chart in only a matter of hours, “TARAKA,” which bears the name of his own event series, “Leaving Earth,” with KAS:ST, and the critically praised “RIZZLA.”

The current Latin American tour and his most recent album, “Hombres y Mujeres,” mark GORDO’s return to his Hispanic heritage. The Guatemalan DJ/producer pays tribute to his ancestry beyond making music, though, as he is devoted to supporting the construction of educational facilities in Nicaragua as well as his native Guatemala.

Diamanté, who was already well-known to fans of dance music, consolidated his reputation as GORDO by contributing six tracks to Drake’s most recent dance-infused album, “Honestly Nevermind,” and by being named the top producer on Billboard’s Hot 100 producers and the top Hispanic DJ by DJ Mag. After years of self-discovery, Blackmon’s entire universe has become GORDO. He feels freer now and has the courage to let out the sounds that have been trapped in his heart for a long time. From this point on, he must focus on creating the music he wants. No turning around.
